Sermon

Introduction:
This is a launching pad for the 3 messages on the life giving power of the Holy Spirit.
They are tools to equip our understanding for times when we are able to talk to people about Jesus. The life giving power of the Holy Spirit not only comes to birth new life but to give a witness of all the benefits of being a child of God.

Truths about Us:
1.    Redemption    (Ephesians 1:7)

A price was paid through the blood of Jesus. It was paid in full to guarantee that there are no claims upon me by my former master.
So I say “My sins are paid for.”

2.    Cleansing    (Titus 3:5)

Whatever past I came out from, as I was born into God’s family, He washes me, and He says “I am clean.”
So I say “My sin is purged.”

3.    Justification (Romans 5:1)

On the grounds of what Jesus did on the cross, and on the grounds of my acceptance of Christ as my provision for salvation, God makes a legal pronouncement from the ultimate court of heaven, that the sinless record of Jesus has covered my record of sins and wrongs, therefore God views me as one who never sinned at all.
So I say “My record is unmarred.”

4.    Regeneration
 
Being born again requires that I recognize the Person that gave me new life, where the energy for the birth came, and what I was born into. God brings the power through His Holy Spirit, and I am born into His family.
So I say “My spirit is reborn.”

5.    Adoption

I become one of God’s children, co-heir with Christ, qualified to participate in the family business, and qualified to inherit the family fortune.
So I say “My relationship is secure.”

6.    Acceptance    (Ephesians 1:5-6)

The Lord who redeemed me to Himself paid the price of His blood for me, because He saw some worth in me.
So I say “My worth is assured.”

7.    Eternal Life    (John 5:24)

My destiny is forever with the Lord, though my life is still in this world.
So I say “My life and destiny are ensured.”
