A word from the Pastor
The book of Ephesians speaks of what the Church is and what Lord Jesus ‘idea for birthing the Church. He is set to make a strong ministry happen through each person that makes up His body. Knowing our identity establishes the possibility of ministry potential for each one of us. God has a specific purpose for each of us. If we do not know who we are, what we do will not carry a great deal of weight. Discovery of the Lord’s purposes in us must precede the passion to do things for the Lord. Our salvation is birthed out of God’s love for us, not what we do for Him. Once we know who we are, what we do in ministry will naturally flow out of that.
We are called to be people of ministry. Be aware of being “busy” doing things for God, then missing the roots of where we have come from. We need to have a sense of where we are going in God’s purpose. Ministry is what Jesus Christ causes in His own life to happen through us. The question we have a deal with is, “who are we?” in that discovery, the ministry will flow. And we have three to fulfil – ministry in worship to the Lord; ministry in fellowship with one another; ministry in witness to the world.
We have to discover who we are. Be unchained for the work of the ministry, so that we do not live in the shadow of our own inadequacy. Finding our identity in the Lord is where the ministry will flow.
We are saints (Eph 1:1) and we are sons and daughters of God. we secure our relationship with the Father which is the foundation of all ministry.
We are blessed in heavenly places (Eph 1:3). It is the invisible realm where the action is of spiritual warfare, where the Holy Spirit allows us to fully function. The blessing means the provision from the Lord is adequate. Understand that He has chosen us (Eph 1:4); He has adopted us (Eph 1:5); He has accepted us (Eph 1:6).
To be prepared and released into the ministry the Lord has designed for us, it starts with identifying that we are loved by the Lord. He has chosen us individually for a specific purpose. He has adopted us and paid the price for us with His own blood and accepts us as His very own.
